Thunderbird issues

1. Unable to send / receive mails. (Error: unable to connect mailserver)

Check if internet is accessible from the machine
**If not, troubleshoot internet issues (http://192.168.1.103/mediawikisb/index.php/Connectivity_issues)
**If yes, try to ping mail.origamitechnologies OR sin3-i.hostdime.in
  If not pinging, search for "my IP" in google and check if the obtained IP is blocked in the server firewall (contact hostdime for this)
  If pinging, check thunderbird conf.


2. Either able to send or receive, or error related to "authentication problems".

  Right click on username on left pane and open settings and choose "server settings"  
Verify if "SSL/TLS" is selected as "connection security"
Verify if "normal password" is selected as "authentication method"

These are the common errors seen in our thunderbird installations.
